Nanna Ditzel

Model 93 Desk, 1955

Model 93 Desk, 1955

This iconic writing desk was designed by Nanna Ditzel and her husband Jorgen for master cabinetmaker Søren Willadsen in Vejen, Denmark in 1955. It remains one of Ditzel's most sought after and important works. Willadsen was considered the finest cabinetmaker outside of Copenhagen and was responsible for training leading craftsmen including Ejnar Pedersen and Gunnar Iversen.

This early edition has solid drawer fronts with the sculptural carved drawer-pulls. The inside of the drawers are made from rich Danish oak. The desk has a veneered rosewood top with solid rosewood legs, drawer fronts and edgings. This version has 3 spacious drawers built into the desk apron. It has been restored and refinished at our workshops in London by our team of experts. The Model 93 is a truly magnificent and rare piece of Danish Modern history.
